In order to get input on specific issues from equity-seeking groups - Indigenous, racialized, the deaf and disabled, the LGBTQ and official language minority communities - CHRC is holding special consultations in several cities across the country. Coordinators and facilitators from these communities will organize and run the consultations in September and October.

The consultations will seek input from participants in the following areas, which are being developed under the Respectful Workplaces in the Arts umbrella:

  • A draft Code of Conduct for the performing arts, stating commitment to “respectful workplaces in the arts”;
  • Training needs and resources to deal with and avoid harassment;
  • Reporting mechanisms for victims of harassment, and investigating mechanisms for employers.

Comments from the consultations will be submitted to the Working Groups in charge of the above areas for integration into their reports.
